Flybe were dismal, truly, truly dismal, in the period after their takeover of BA Connect. They could hardly have been worse - totally unreliable; untrained staff who could hardly get a single thing right; removed what was left of value of the BA service (perhaps not a lot) and replaced it with nothing.

They are now much better but it will take longer - and a bit more effort - to repair their reputation. The new fleet is in my experience very reliable and punctual, flight times often shorter than Bacon used to be; they now have lounges, though you only have to experience the BHX lounge to make you pine for the old BA days ... the BOB food is very poor, though, and the piped music enough to make one homicidal.

But yes - although there are some lowish fares to be had I could not think of them as cheap. And LGW S Terminal
