We were in GCM in April and the Courtyard was definitely closed and not opening any time soon. Wasnt there a rumor somewhere else that they were going to bulldoze the place and make it into a Renaissance resort or something ? Also, that may have been an old webpage or something, maybe in between being a Holiday Inn and a Marriott ? The page says 2005.

I have stayed at the Marriott twice. Once in 2002 and again in April 2009. In 2002, there was no beach. Now they have brought in a LOT of sand and the width is the same as the Westin (there own pictures do not do it justice).

The pool is very small, but most people lay on the beach. The Marriott is better if you want to snorkel right off the beach. They have brought in a lot of reef balls and you can see plenty of fish including sea urchins (and a friendly barracuda). The reef balls also do a could job of breaking up any surf. We like the Marriott because it is smaller and the renovations have been good. We do not like big resorts - personal preference.

You will enjoy whether you stay at Westin, Ritz or Marriott....
