If you believe Trump is a good real estate developer, you may want to ask people in Tampa, Tijuana, Dubai or AC (among other places) what they think about that.

Second, like Landing Gear said, Trump isn't really a developer or property manager at all (so technically, Tampa, Tijuana, Dubai and AC are moot points, but it's still fun to point them out, right?). His main business is licensing his name to other people's projects. He learned quite some time ago that his talents aren't in real estate, but in convincing people that (a) he's way richer than he really is and (b) if they want to pretend to be rich, too, they should buy stuff with his name on it. And he's incredibly good at it. I didn't realize just HOW good he was until I saw a quote about why he keeps a 727 emblazoned with his name sitting on the tarmac at LGA. It's not because it's more convenient than TEB or HPN, but because he wants the thousands of people transiting LGA every day to see it and think, "Gee, that guy must be really rich to have a plane like that here."
