I was charged for the alcohol consumed when I stayed on points, I never complained as I know they don't have to honour the free minibar benefit on points stays. The amount IHG paid the hotel was probably less than the cost of what I drank.

Do you think if I mentioned something I would have got the minibar free?

I did get a nice room upgrade though
