Here what was bestowed upon the Diamond on this busy weeked:
1. No upgrade, mid-20's floor with strip view. Rooms are still oversized closets. Small tub/shower bath - actually quite cramped.
2. Continental breakfast for HHonors in restaurant (never tried) or in Room (tried once, at 5AM - screwed up order, brought wrong danish, warm OJ and cold coffee)
3. No phone call from anyone in hotel to see if all was OK. Usually, or at least every 3 times out of 4 stays, I receive a phone call during my first eve to see if all is OK from someone within hotel management. Upon checkout, out of curiosity, I asked who was the liason for the HHonors program for the Las Vegas Hilton, and the desk clerk said "I don't believe we have one." No kidding.
4. Almost got cuffed by the security guards that were handling the overflow of Valet cars on Saturday afternoon. Had to show the room key, govt issued ID, and then got forced to wait while they called the front desk to check it out. Got pretty surly in fact. I don't want to tell you what the cocky-a&*ed valet said afterwards to me.
All in all it was my first stay at the LV Hilton in nearly three years. It will probably be alot longer until the next time I do unless forced to do so by my Company.
Overall, I just think they don't care. They probably will care if you have a couple of fistfuls of 100s to burn in their old, dreary casino - all in all, a shame to the Hilton name.
