I remember reading some time ago (maybe 6 months) that the employees at the O&O actually went on strike, disrupting the stay of all the guests who were there at the time. I wonder if the degradation of management is somehow related to this. And how bad must the treatment of the employees been for them to actually strike? The island is lovely, but after reading that (and frankly, after our last stay when management presence was non-existent and some of the employees seemed almost hostile) I would hesitate to go back.

I think the new Alila place has a very similar look. That might be worth checking out...
