Just wondering. I travelled out to the US this week in F and noted that there was a BA employee in the cabin (I could tell from the presentation she was working on). Travelling back last night I was booked in J but was eligible for a space available upgrade to F which I didn't get. In the lounge before the flight I observed 2 individuals who were clearly BA staff as they were chatting lots and loudly about goings on at Waterside and it turned out that they travelled back in F. Curious to know what the official line is here. Anyone know?
There are two "types" of staff travel.
Duty Travel.
Personal Travel.
From the sounds of it, these people were on "Duty" travel. Dependent on what level of management they are, depends on what Class of travel they are entitled to.
Personal Travel, almost everyone has "Economy" priority, however, if that is full, you may be placed into a seat in another cabin... or... a jump seat!
