That's true, if you're a Silver, or Gold or perhaps even Plat, you're going to lose out to DM companions. Ifo rperh this bothers you, fly more. From the airline's perspective, makes sense to me to push the benefits more to the most-frequent travelers.
I thought that companions were upgraded iff all the medallions on that flight were upgraded as well. Did they change this?
