I've been fortunate enough this summer to have all four family members upgraded, twice. It was great to be able to use all of the certs that would otherwise have gone unused. In both cases, we had to wait until the gate for it to happen.

I also checked to see if I could swap boarding passes with my daughter and the GA indicated that that would be fine.
