I am hoping to visit a dear friend in Sokoto in 2010. I've had a difficult time finding sites and travel guides on the area. Does anyone know of a good starting point for in depth information about travel to and around Sokoto? Also, I am curious about visiting Niger and Benin while basing in Sokoto.

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
