I would highly recommend the Christmas market in Frankfurt, Germany. Many people don't think of Frankfurt as a place with much worth seeing, but it is actually quite the contrary. The market is huge and there is charming entertainment as well. The city has a lot going for it and flights can be very reasonably priced due to the high competition.
