Agreed. Unfortunately, this could mean other suffering. Last time I requested a "quiet room" I got assigned one farthest from elevator and RC (on other side of hotel), and got tired of the walk back and forth really fast.
Chosing "quiet room" could also impact an upgrade or other room request (or vice versa). I guess it depends on property and whomever is assigning rooms, which request(s) (quiet, upgrade, RC, etc.) they give priority to, if they can't fulfill all of them at once.
I've noticed that my last used c.card seems to be "on file" when I use the phone res line. This sometimes annoys me (I dislike the idea of my c.card being out there), but on occasion it has been helpful. For instance, last month, when the website was down, I gave up and drove to my destination. A few miles from the freeway exit, I phoned the Hyatt Dia res line, and told the agent he had 4 minutes to book me at the upcoming Hyatt, or else I would pass the exit and stay at *wood further down the road. In 3 minutes, he had a confirmed res, using my card on file, and even offered to phone the hotel to have my key packet made up immediately.

Didn't need to take my hands off the wheel or eyes off the road. But, this is for phone res only...doesn't work on website (probably just as well...extra security).
