I asked them a few years back if they would match my Priority Club Platinum status. They said they only would up to silver, which they did. I still had to earn platinum the old fashioned way.

They do offer a challenge now, here is an e-mail one of my co-workers got when she asked if they would match her status from Hilton.
I would be happy to extend to your our Elite Renewal Challenge as a qualifying challenge to obtain Platinum Elite status. The Platinum Elite level requires 75 nights per year. This means that Platinum level members stay an average of 18 nights every 3 months. We can make an exception and only require your account to have 18 Elite nights within the next 3 months, instead of the required 75 nights to achieve the Platinum Elite status.
She pulled it off in 5 weeks and has Platinum status now, so that me be a good option.

Good luck, and remember, YMMV.
