Nice to hear that the crew did a good job. Good for them! ^ And good on AC for taking care of an issue instead of flying a potentially unsafe aircraft.
Having said that, the compensation does seem a little weak. Had this happened in the EU, the Passenger Bill of Rights would have kicked in and the comp would have been substantially greater. I'm not sure if a full refund would have been in order, but the comp would have been more than $100 + $12.
