Just noticed on Expertflyer that the rear CW cabin (Rows 17 to 20) appears

Is this a sign of the times I wonder, turning a High J 744 into a Low J 744 by closing one of the 3 cabins off due to low demand. Presumably this also means more flexibility for BA as a Low J aircraft could also be put on the flight at short notice. Less seat choice for me though as the flights are rapidly filling up on the UD!!
I would not read too much into seating availability at this stage. You may find it is still full. Of course what you will never see is the extend to which BA are regularly overbooking CW these days, which may be a better indication of actual unconstrained demand (achievable demand being approx. 100% seat factor). I understand (second hand source) that during the last boom BA were overbooking by 33% - 50% on the peak flights to HKG.
