As I said, I went the other way - Boston to Dublin. Don't remember which flight exactly - the one with the stopover in Shannon

The stopover itself was quite stupid to begin with (AFAIK more to do with politics than anything else), but then having to change, without any explanation, was a bit much. Furthermore, I had another connection to look forward to in Dublin, just to get back to Heathrow.

I only went to Boston for a day, and if I had had my way I would have gone nonstop with BA - but the company paid, and Aer Lingus was cheaper. Never mind connecting in Dublin, and then connecting in Shannon (cough) AND Dublin on the way back, all within 40 hours or so. Was a bit much.

Although US immigration in Dublin was fun - no idea why that's only possible in Ireland.

The flights themselves weren't that bad (although no personal TV) and the food was standard economy-fare. If they didn't fly out of Dublin and hopped around Ireland on the way back, I'd probably use them again someday.
