The aircraft rotates to/from LAX-GRU. It is needed to flow the 763ERs in and out of LAX-GRU. This is because LAX-GRU operates with the long-haul version of 763ER (with pilot crew rest) but ATL and JFK do not.
For the summer and early fall (through Oct 17):
DL246 LAX-JFK 0900-1745 - Sat. Only
DL247 JFK-LAX 1520-1845 - Sun. Only
For the winter season (after late Oct), these weekly 763ER flights will no longer be necessary because JFK-GRU will be swapped flow the LAX-GRU airplanes.
