I need to take a trip from JFK to LAX for the first week in September, a RT flight I have taken dozens of times in the past. I could remember a time, I believe it was pre 2003 that DL flew the B767-300's from JFK to LAX and back and since 2003ish its been what, all B757's/B737's? Well......

In looking at dates for the begining of September, I noticed that DL is flying the B767-300ER with the BE cabin on a handful of dates in the beginning of the month, namely Sept. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd - in both directions - and then again on Sept. 7th, both directions. However, other then those dates, I can not find any other scheduled B767-300ER service from JFK to LAX.

What a great deal this is for elites who get the upgrade to the BE cabin, a RT fare of $315!!!!

One question I can think of is this. Why only a handful of dates for the B767-300ER on the JFK to LAX route and what is the likely hood of DL swapping the B763ER for narrow body aircraft?
