I was booked in business with pending upgrade to first thus no need for QF to offer me anything. As long as you are ticketed in F at time a downgauge is made they will either provide compensation or an alternative (dates/routing). This is independent on whether paid or award, although presumably they'll be more generous for paid high status than award no status.
