The first was even worse. I was not happy, either with my room or with the location. After all, the GH is connected to the Convention Center - not nearly as inviting as being adjacent to one of Hong Kong's great parks.

Now, it's possible that if I had a great suite at the Grand Hyatt, as you appear to be considering, I'd feel somewhat softer about the Grand Hyatt. Still, it can never overcome the negatives of its location.
This is typical of the GH HK. First few times I stayed (always having stayed on either FFN's or points,) was given the small rooms facing the pool area. After those stays, it has been harborview rooms, I believe the 16's have the floor to ceiling glass for the best views. They really reward the frequent guest, as my friend, who practically lived there when they actually made electronics nearby, is getting frequent F&B credits and other swag/perks. Of course he has generated substantial rev for the GH so it all follows.

I stayed at the Conrad once, 3 nights as DIA on some promo free nights. Exec Lounge floor room, as small as the GH's pool view room, mountain view. I thought the GH was much better, club/lounge offerings and service. The GH is a little further east but still walking distance and I don't think the mall adds much to the Conrad's ambiance. And the night life nearby the GH is incredible. The Grand Club is unsurpassed as far as food and beverages offered and you can not beat the view. The spa, fitness and pools are much nicer at the GH.

As with all things, it depends on what you like.
