Moomba, that is an excellent trip report, thank you! I'll also be booking an Award flight, though with QF. Was also going to go landside, just for a change of scenery, but hope I don't have to sort out boarding pass problems. Plan on using BA OLCI, so hopefully that works.

From you post it seems QF F is better than BA F, so am glad I'll get to sample both. The alternative was BA from SYD - LHR without the QF F experience, so this route will provide that. I'd also like to enjoy a spa treatment so was glad to see this was offered, even though it was an early flight.
