Mileage required for US Domestic First Class

Hi, sorry if this has been discussed previously but I've searched without success.

I'd like to redeem some of my DC miles for a flight from SEA to BOS in October. According to KVS, seats are available in First but not Economy on a direct flight with United on the day I want to travel. Spending a few more miles to travel in First would be OK but from the new Diamond Club "How to Spend Miles" chart it appears that the mileage required would be 2.5 times more than that for Economy.

Is that really the case for flights within the US? It seems a lot extra to pay for a slightly better seat on a domestic flight?
