If you mean claim on the credit card for one hotel and also use the voucher at another hotel, this may not work. The few times I have had a missed connection where the airline paid for the hotel I did not get any points. In my cases the excuse was that these were not qualifying rates.

Skip the voucher hassle and claim on the credit card if it offers the travel delay coverage.
