The agents offered hotel vouchers and I'm flying out this morning instead of last night. I go home on weekends so by leaving today instead of yesterday I end up being home for the weekend for about 24 hours.
While it was originally booked as a connecting flight, they rebooked me today for a direct flight to BOS. While it's nice to have the direct flight, I paid the extra taxes, etc., for connecting flights.
Do they reimburse the extra taxes, etc since it's now a direct flight? Also, would I be simply expecting a $50-$100 travel voucher for putting in a complaint with US?
Sorry bout that, but mechanical issues happen. would you have had a worse experience if you had been forced to experience an emergency landing, or worse?
Why did you book a connecting flight over a direct flight? Extra miles or segs? You can always ask for original mileage credit, or certainly a refund of the extra taxes and see what happens.
{Edit: saw your second post after posting this: Call and ask for the segs, since that is what you want out of this. Explain that you scheduled your flight to get the segs for your status. GC}
