I recently took a few flights on CX and AA. Now I was near the threshold of making the next MPC level and per my understanding, the flights after the one which takes me to a higher level count for requalification.
Some of my flights on AA posted quite late. As a consequence, a transpac flight which should have counted for my requalification is counting as the one which qualified me to that level.
I wrote to the MPC service centre and got a response which basically said stuff it! " I do hope for your understand that we are unable to count this Club credits towards your new membership as all Club credits have already reset to zero into your new membership period."
(great English, btw, with "hope for your understand"!!!)
Now the miles involved aren't a terrible lot, but this whole attitude is pretty annoying. Basically I just get the feeling that the person on the other end just finds it convenient to send an apology email rather than actually do something!
Any suggestions?
Welcome to the "Club". I got trapped in the same way with a transpac flight in A which I was counting would push me into a higher tier and instead became the first miles to requalify for that
same tier. I did the same as you did, got the same "stuff it" attitude, and since then stopped putting my MPC number and flow everything to AA now. I only build up MPC miles through my credit card, which I then use for upgrades.
