So this is where you (as a passenger) is fighting with one hand tied behind your back. There's no way you can PROVE that the flight was oversold.

If you look at the OP, there is no proof that the flight was oversold. In fact the OP received an email response back from UA indicating it was "safety-related weight and balance." The email response from UA does not indicate an oversell.
