I too would recomend the Hilton in Monterey. I stay at this property at least two times a month and always get a nice upgraded room. It is a quick drive or longish walk to downtown, warf etc. I am Diamond and have not paid the daily parking fee since they implemented it a couple of years ago. I spoke with the manager and told him I didn't appreciate getting gouged for parking at a property that had plenty of on site parking and he said no problem, no pay.
