I believe so, yes... as long as you are changing dates or flight times only.

It can be changed, and it's possible that you won't be charged a fee... it really depends on how they process it. LGA (part of NYC) and EWR are co-terminals, which doesn't help for standby but does help for routing. In the past, I've been able to change
award tickets between co-terminals with no fee - UA did not count the co-terminal change as a true routing change. I don't know if this is still the way it works (I haven't made such a change in about 2 years) and/or whether it depends on the agent you get.
Your best bet is to call UA and ask.
