I was going to try and combine a MR with a vacation but even with 3-strikes the best I'm getting out of UA is $718.70 on SFO-CDG from the 6th-21st. That seems somewhat decent fare wise these days but certainly not MR worthy around these parts.
Any suggestions?
I do it all the time, particularly for long weekends. For example, three upcoming JFK/GIG trips for $300 ai. However, you are going need to be flexible in your dates and destination and be ready to pounce once a deal becomes available. I think recently there were some good deals to EZE from LAX (not sure if it covered late fall). My suggestion is to keep your plans open and monitor FT or sign up for a service such as farecompare or kayak.
