If you're a gold they will do it.

Worth a try even if you're not.

Call up and ask to TCP the PNR's. TCP = The Complete Party. Once they are linked they should have no problems with being seated together. They won't link with your booking but if wife and son have separate PNRs it will as they are on the same flight.

Good luck - they can do it if they want to.
