Stayed for two nights at the Beijing Hilton two months ago. Considering the location, the service offered is 3 1/2 stars
(quite luxurious for local standards).
Was not upgraded to a suite or any larger room (I'm a diamond) because of full occupancy (according to the girl at the HHonors desk), but was offered access to the lounge (where food is similar, even a bit better) to most of the Hilton lounges in major US cities. Was surprised to find a complimentary bottle of red wine and a huge bowl filled with fresh fruits, as well as a nicely decorated wooden box filled with chocolates (quite delicious). The view was nothing special. The cost for local phone calls (hotel room) was extremely low
(less than 30-40 cents, if I'm not mistaken) for about 30min dial-up access (I use an international provider that charges about US$10/hr in China).
The hotel is located about 30min by taxi from the airport (fare was ~RMB65-70), and about 15min by taxi to the center of the city.
There's an ATM machine in a large shopping complex nearby (about 5min walk from the hotel).
The travel desk, located across from the lobby, offers a short list of organized group and private tours of Beijing and surroundings.
Didn't try any of the restaurants or other facilities.
Enjoy your stay in Beijing!
