1) Yes. NZ will through check baggage to QF even on separate tickets.
2) No. Will need to check in at AKL, although this can be done at transit desk (or at the QF lounge if have access).
3) Slightly risky. NZ19 originates in LAX and thus has potential to be delayed (somewhat mitigated by a/c sitting at LAX for a few hours). If unable to through check bags then it becomes a bit riskier (mid morning is a busy period at immigration & customs) but still doable.
4) Is that 725 for RAR-MEL? Seems high for just AKL-MEL.
5) IIRC DJ also flies from Rarotonga.
