Risky connection at AKL?

I have a friend who is about to book RAR-AKL on NZ19 on October. She would then want to fly AKL-MEL (asap). Has some alternatives involving AA/QF miles or cash on NZ for that segement.

NZ19 is due to arrive in AKL at 1045. The next QF flight leaves at 1300.

I know its same terminal but:

Separate tickets
Can baggage be checked right through form RAR-MEL?
Can AKL-MEL BP be issued in RAR (I suspect not)?

Assuming on-time arrival of inbound is that a really risky connection?

Other alternatives are cash for NZ725 at 1530, or wait till QF134 at 2055 if wanting to earn or burn QF/AA miles.(I can provide a QP pass to ease the pain of such a long connection )

Thanks...
