Actually, common sense would tell any reasonable purpose that a 6" whip poses absolutely no danger on an aircraft. The author did not set out to test the TSA, and could not have known reasonably what the TSO was looking for. The fact that other voyeuristic passengers were intrigued does not justify claiming that the author "caused a disruption". The TSO caused a disruption by banning a harmless object.
