I'm not sure it has much to do with a FF redemption, per se. Equipment change from a 747 to a 777 resulted in a highly undesirable seat for me on a purchased ticket, which I was unable to change in MMB. Agent on the phone allegedly changed it to a less undesirable one, but MMB continues to show the most undesirable one, and continues not to allow me to change it.
