Last year I had a ticket that I cancelled and was told I could use it towards another ticket after paying the change fee. If I buy a refundable ticket using the voucher (for more than the amount of the old ticket), can I cancel the new, fully refundable ticket and get a new voucher (with an expiration date farther into the future)? I know that this works on some airlines but not others.

Ok this makes no sense. I am trying to apply it to a fully flexible biz class ticket. However, I'm being told that if I were to change anything on the new ticket (including dates), it would incur the change fee. Shouldn't it be just an exchange of the old ticket for the new one??
