Coming back from the FS Boston this past weekend I can report that their conceirge desk was regularly manned by three clefs d'or members. Also, I was recently at the Paris property which had 5 as a matter of course and even a month ago (in low season) the FS Palm Beach often had two.

The Atlanta FS has moved the concierge desk next to the front desk and I wouldn't be suprised if the front desk was asked at times to serve both roles if occupation is low (perhaps on the weekends, as it is primarily a business hotel). Staffing levels move in tandem with occupancy levels, service levels should not. If there is only one clefs d'or or even a very gifted front desk clerk (god help me!) but he/she does a good job, its the same utility to me as if they had 5 concierge standing there.

The FS Canary Wharf does not provide a dedicated concierge desk on the weekends. The front desk was able to help me with everything I needed. Reservations, suggestions, etc.

I will say that having a dedicated concierge service is very important to me. Even with my iphone/blackberry/google I couldn't have found (in any amount of reasonable time) the name and address of the man who did such a great job cutting my hair in boston, or the wonderful coffee place open at 11pm, or wrap all my presents for the office in time for an early departure, without the help of David and Walter at the FS Boston.
