Sunday June 28th

Today was Pearl Harbor day. First, I was challenging my mom to see whether it was even open on Sunday. Well it was. So, I got up again at 6:30, and left the room at 7:35. Quick stop at concierge desk – take bus 20 or 42. We went to the bus stop, was there for 1 minute and a bus 42 showed up. Female driver, it was a split two part bus. Mom got a monthly bus pass from concierge. I had a $5 with no change, so the driver yelled out “Anyone got change for a 5?” One person came up and gave change. We were there at 8:35, and we were at the line for the tickets at 8:45. The next available tickets were for 9:45. During that hour we were taking pictures, looking in the gift shop, looking around, etc. We went over to where the tour was to begin, and it was a long line to get in. We walked into a theatre, a “ranger” who lectured us about the tour itself. Then he put on a 20 minute video on the attack, and from there we boarded the boat out to the memorial. Right upon arriving there, a line of people was there to take them back. I didn’t know that these boats were doing tight turnarounds. But it truly was an amazing memorial. It really amazed me how oil was still coming out of the boat now. I would like to take this time to remember ALL of our country’s Military Members, fallen in the line of duty or still alive today, thank you very much for your service. Otherwise, we went back to the center, bought a few gifts from the gift shop (since they won’t let you bring items on the boat.) After that, we went to the bus station. We were there for 25 minutes, and we were just so tired of waiting we just hopped on a bus. An hour later, we were at the last stop – the shopping center. The driver gave me a transfer slip and we got off. 5 minutes later we got on a different bus, and we got back to the hotel. We walked down the shopping area, I got a personal pizza for myself, and mom got sushi somewhere else. We met at Starbucks and had lunch there. I decided to buy an hour of wifi, it was charged to the room. After that, we did the same as the day before – pool and beach. We also went by the lagoon and rented one of those 4 people bicycle boat things. It was about $20 for a half an hour. It was a decent amount of exercise IMHO. We went back to the room later, and mom got me McDonalds again. That wrapped up the day.
