WOW!

I am really surprised to hear that you had a bad experience.

I've stayed at the Washington Hilton & Towers many times before and ALWAYS had a pleasant stay! I¡¦ve yet to try any other DC Area hotel (Westin Fairfax, Doubletree Crystal city, Hilton Embassy Row, Capital Hilton or Hilton Garden on 14th are the hotels I would like to check out) because I¡¦ve been treated so well at the Washington Hilton Towers. The staff in the towers level is EXTREMELY helpful. I¡¦ve always been upgraded to huge suites. I¡¦ve stayed in all three presidential suites, the Chief of State & the Solar Suite. Any special request has always been accepted with no errors. The executive lounge has lots of great food, is very clean and with lots of availability.

I¡¦ve stayed in the hotel while they were hosting conventions and packed, average days and at times when the hotel has very low occupancy and don¡¦t have any complaints.

I have to visit DC in a few weeks and I¡¦ve noticed the rates have gone up over the next 6 weeks. The Hilton site usually has rates for $89/99/109 a night. But the weekend I need to be there the rates are $159. So I may check out the Washington Embassy although I hear they don¡¦t have suites! ƒ¼

Again, sorry to hear you¡¦ve had several bad experiences there.

Just got back from seven days at two Hiltons - Six at the Washington Hilton & Towers and a free (HH reward) night at the Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Airport. Couldn't have been more opposite.

Again, I have to stay at the Wash Hilton because of a conference. The most of the true front line people there do not have a clue in life. (The housekeeping staff is always great!) If not for the fact the hotel has the largest ballroom in DC (GW spoke there Wed night), that hotel would be empty.

The front desk staff should all be fired as should the folks at the Towers lounge. Should it take SIX times to the right three names of the people staying in rooms matched? My firm rents a suite with three sleeping rooms "attached." Six calls to get my name attached to my room (even though it was given to them in writing two WEEKS before arriving)! HH Gold benefits - a JOKE!

Other times I go to DC, I avoid this poor excuse for a hotel.

After reading posts here, I was scared about my 25 hour "detox" at the Hilton FLL. I couldn't have been more surprised. The front desk person had everything there and was gracious when she was asked two additional times how to operate the elevator to the eight (HH Premier) level. The room was nice. My folio had a note from the manager good for a free drink. Coming back to the room after Jal Alai, I found two bottles of water in the ice bucket. A really nice continental breakfast. And I used a 20K point award for the stay.

I would go back to that hotel and plan on telling the manager that in a note to him this week.

The Washington Hilton...a lost cause and not just based upon this year's experience - Six straight years at the conference, Six straight bad experiences with the hotel and most of its staff.
