<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Yes, they created a new account for me too - I noticed it when I got a new HHonors card in the mail yesterday with a different number. Immediately called HHonors and they combined the two accounts.</font>
Before you ask them to merge the accounts, don't forget to get a car insurance quote from GMAC for the newly created account. You should be able to get 1,000 points from GMAC on your original account, plus another 1,000 from GMAC on the newly created account if you do it before the accounts are merged.
