If they do give advance notice, won't we all just go nuts and max out every credit card buying coins during the final days?
I've had fun taking the high road with the banks, as I am very concerned about the filing of suspicious activity reports if I lie.
Bank: Will there be many more of these?
Me: Yes
Bank: Why are you doing this?
Me: The banks wouldn't help the U.S. government reduce its costs through ordering these, so the Mint decided to request that citizens help force the process via selling with no shipping costs. The Mint expects me to deposit these to help the government reduce costs.
If lying is fun, I would consider telling the bank I would purchase more, but if I put more than 100 lbs of coin in my electric car, it won't go fast enough. No I don't deposit all of them, I give some to my favorite charity - the one that helps save the Santa Barbara Wood Shrew (from the TV show Weeds).
