There is a thread 'Known Tier Point Runs for under £1.25 per TP' or such which has details.

To book these AA runs, go to the AA web site - americanairlines.co.uk put in the routing and choose 'Price & Schedule' and about four columns along you will see a fare 'Instant Upgrade' this is what you are looking for.
