No--I've been to Spokane 3x in the last 6 months and stayed all 3x at City Center. I've had such good experiences, I haven't seen any reason to go elsewhere. The other plus is that it's walking distance to WSU, which is where I conduct my business. If you go, be sure to request a corner room--they are huge.
I've heard that the Doubletree in the Valley is an older property. Some here have reported good experiences at the HGI, although I don't think they offer upgrades.
