It's always prudent to give yourself extra time departing TLV. In the event that you are sent for a secondary scan, this could easily add 15/20 minutes to your travel experience. An observation -- if you are travelling with jam, honey or Hashahar Ha'Oleh (the amazing Israeli chocolate spread similar to Nutella), you almost certainly will be given a secondary baggage scan.

On a side note, TLV has bar none one of the best duty free shops around, and worthy of a pit stop. You will be amazed at the volume of merchandise that customers load up on. They also have great deals (Buy 3, Get 1 Free, etc) and an amazing wine selection. A rare find would be Domaine du Castel -Israel's award winning white wine (Chardonnay and Blanc du Castel).
