+1

I'm actually pretty impressed w/ the functionality of the optimized mobile site. I use it all the time to get gates and times (and the site is usually more up-to-date than the screens in airports), as well as checking my AAdvantage account, changing seating assignments, etc. And that's on a non-3G BlackBerry. I would assume functionality is even better on smartphones that are more optimized and better equipped for web usage.

Also, I've used the mobile boarding pass feature available at some airports. AA emails you a special version of your boarding pass, and when you open the email on your phone, a scan-able image shows up. I've had it work very successfully at LAX and ORD, although its been several months since I've last used it. This isn't actually a feature of their mobile site, but a separate feature of their online check in process.

IMHO, we don't really need an "app for everything." I'm not sure that your wishlist really improves the user experience for many. But then again, iPhone users seem to really love having apps for the sake of having apps. So maybe it would be a nice thing for AA to offer in order to please those of you.
