You have to use the card from which the cert was issued to pay for the paid ticket. I would think that if you
upgraded the gold card that you got the cert from, you should be able to use the upgraded card. If you just cancelled it and applied for the other card I'm pretty sure that won't fly but it's worth a call anyway. I'm not too familiar with the options card but I wouldn't think it an upgrade since there's no annual fee. (I've been wrong before so don't hold me to that.)
