Thanks for the responses.

If I've already checked in for 2 segments and skip the first one, what will happen if and when I actually try to board the plane for the second segment and hand my boarding pass to the gate agent? Will I be allowed to board the plane or will something happen when my boarding pass is scanned, showing that I am not allowed to fly?
