Trip Report - Crowne Plaza Rome-St Peter’s hotel

We (two adults, two kids, one baby) just completed a four-night stay at the Crowne Plaza in Rome. We stayed on reward nights - so we saw no room upgrade (I'm plat). But, the room was nice (Standard two double bed room). Everything was tastefully decorated. We had a crib in our room which made it somewhat cramped (but we didn't spend too much time in the room). Transportation to downtown Rome was easy - we tried the courtesy shuttle a few times but each time is was full so we just took the bus (takes about 15-20 minutes and is a straight shot). Staff was so-so - I didn't feel like they went out of their way or anything. We did get three free water bottles each day in our room (which was nice - it was hot). The outdoor pool seemed like it was always crowded - but we had a good time nonetheless. Food at the hotel restaurants was expensive (IMHO). The previously reported restaurant right next door to the hotel (Arturo's) is fantastic (tell the proprietor (Bernardino) that his friends in Hawaii sent you). Also, you can catch the bus and take it for about 10 minutes - just hop off and there are pizzerias and ristorantes all over the place. Internet in the rooms was expensive - the 5 EURO initial fee was for 1 hour of use - and it got exponentially more expensive with more time. If you need internet access, use the free computer in the lobby. - Overall, we enjoyed our stay - even with the three kids.
