I can say that the expired thing is NOT just people trying to "blag" or whatever. MANY MANY times over the last decade BA's Fulfillment has been absolutely terrible and I have gone as far as 5 months without receiving a new valid card, not to mention as Kiwi states, sometimes some o us are just travelling. In this day and age the card requirement is quite frankly unforgivable, I know of no other airline that has this policy as almost every airline that I know of, including AEROFLOT either accepts BP's or is able to verify instantly ones status on their computer. Considering the fact that in recent years BA jettisoned their on RS system and redid their entire IT system this would have been an EXTREMELY easy fix.
