I never knew about this forum on Flyertalk. I found it with a Google search on these new ATM fees.

Yeah, I met this guy. He requested an interview and came to my Recoleta office. He took some things I said out of context. I did tell him that short-term rentals are down which is true. But like you, I doubt many of the things written in the article. But to be fair, while he was in my office he did recount the tale of his friend getting poisoned in Uruguay. Which seems really outlandish to me. Unless you are totally running in the wrong circles I can't believe any of these situations he is describing. Uruguay is VERY low key. How these guys managed to get themselves in trouble there I can't understand. And I don't believe the story about the police going around to ATM machines either.

Frankly I wasn't that impressed during the interview. He had a friend tagalong for the interview and they both looked hungover. I guess now I know why.
